SerieA: Inter 0-2 Siena, The ‘San Siro Curse’ Continues

Siena have come away from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza with three points: Serse Cosmi’s men have beaten the Nerazzurri 2-0, who once again – for the fifth time – fail to win at home.

It was goalless at the interval, in spite of missed chances from Sneijder and with Cassano at the top of his game. Siena took the lead on 73 minutes as Vergassola finished a fine counter attack. Inter tried everything to respond, pouring forward at every opportunity but they were denied by a number of good saves from Pegolo.

The Nerazzurri were punished at the death as substitute Valiani headed in a second in stoppage time.

Find out why I was still happy with this performance despite the disappointing result in my article on ESPN FC

  1. Dont you think stramaccioni needs to develop a different style. I know Cassano, with sneijder, service isnt the problem bur both of them are better with a striker about them.
For Sneijder Eto’o/RVP for Cassano Ibrahimovic/Balotelli
Milito is a poacher, but you know who is a poacher also, Mario Gomez. How does Bayern make it work?
More wide play with their runs and their lies the problem. Sneijder nor Cassano are into running wide enough until Milito is in position , like Lahm, the great Ribery, and Robben do.
the only solution is for Milito to stay forward more, but that isn’t his game, he likes to hold up play, drop deep and support.
Gomez doesnt have to because of the way Bayern is built. can, Inter do likewise?
