Does Wesley Sneijder have a future at Inter?

With Inter on a nine match winning streak in all competitions, Things are finally looking rosy for the Nerazzuri. Stramaccioni recently changed the formation to a 3-4-3, with the Tridente up top proving to all critics that Inter has what it takes to make a serious challenge for the Scudetto. One question still remains, how will Wes fit into this rejuvenated team?

Sneijder has been out injured for a good few weeks now and has been eager to get back playing for The Black and Blue. There is no doubt at all in Sneijder’s ability, and is one of the best players in the world in his position, but with Strama fielding a team that doesn’t incorporate a player in his position it causes a bit of a problem. Will Strama change his formation to fit Wes back into the line-up? Or will he try to squeeze him into the philosophy he has now?

As an Inter fan, I personally am looking forward to Sneijder’s return, although I do find sometimes that we rely on him far too much. Also with the form that Palacio and Cassano are in, he may well find it difficult to get himself back into the first team. Another matter that could have an effect on his future is that Inter are not the most wealthy club in the world and may well cash in on his services while they still have the chance, and I doubt there won’t be a massive queue of clubs fighting for his signature, therefore possibly ending in Inter getting a rather generous amount of money for him which could be used to help stabilize the clubs finances and invested into other areas, for instance youth development etc.

On the other hand, the high level of competition for a starting position in the Nerazzuri line-up could well spur him on, which, to be fair, hasn’t really happened before. Sneijder has never really had any competition for his place in the team and has in turn lead to him putting in some mediocre performances in the past. So with the Tridente working with maximum effectiveness, we could see a brand new Wesley Sneijder, which is something worth getting a little bit excited for.

Personally, I am a huge fan of Wes, and would hate to see him go. I can’t imagine the predicament that Strama has on his hands at the moment, but I am sure whatever route he goes for, will ultimately affect Inter for the better.
