SerieA: Atalanta 3-2 Inter

Inter’s winning streak came to a halt in Bergamo, where Atalanta beat the Nerazzurri 3-2 in Week 12 of the 2012/13 Serie A.

There were no three points today but plenty of character shown by Andrea Stramaccioni’s side to battle back after going behind. Despite starting on the front foot, the Nerazzurri found themselves a goal down after 9 minutes of play as Bonaventura rose well to connect with Peluso’s inch-perfect cross. Denis had a great chance to make it two in the 36th minute but skied his effort from the edge of the six-yard box.

Fredy Guarin made no mistake with his 56th-minute free kick, blasting an absolute rocket past a helpless Consigli. Inter’s joy was short-lived though, because four minutes later Atalanta restored their lead as Denis slotted home Maxi Moralez’s low delivery. The Argentine midfielder caused more problems in the 67th minute when he ran into the box, seemingly from an offside position; Silvestre’s challenge made contact with the ball but the Atalanta man fell over and Mr Damato had no doubt it was a foul. Denis converted from the spot to take the score to 3-1. It wasn’t over there. As the game entered the last five minutes of normal time, Gargano picked out Palacio in the box and the Argentine finished clinically. 3-2 and all out attack for Inter in the final minutes, but it wasn’t to be. Atalanta were reduced to ten men in stoppage time when Parra saw red for a push on Guarin. (via inter.it)

2012/13 Inter SerieA Season Preview and Predictions

Inter tickets

The start of the Serie A season is fast approaching and over the summer there has been quite a few changes to not only Inter’s squad but also to most of, if not all the top teams in Italy. We still have over a month left of the mercato to go too so there may be many changes still to come.  I am really excited for the start of this season’s campaign with Inter having many fresh faces ready to do battle in our sacred colours of Black and Blue, and also with the young and talented Andrea Stramaccioni officially at the helm we can be sure of some entertaining and exciting football for the Nerazzurri in the coming months.

In the pre-season so far there have been quite a few Inter players that are making a good impression and I hope to see them stamping their authority over the Italian league throughout the season, some of the names that have been impressing the most are:

Internazionale: March/ Marzo Review

Another month of disappointment, out of the Champions League, poor performances and after every game wondering how this is going to get better. In the last few days of the month though Massimo Moratti took action and now seems to have begun the rebuilding process, finally there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The results from March/ Marzo

4th March- Inter 2-2 Catania

We scored, Cambiasso cried and we still didn’t win. Awful defending from Nagatomo leading to Gomez of Catania scoring. How Nagatomo could not see what was going to happen, there was only one way Gomez was going to go and the only person who failed to realise was the guy nearest to him. Catania’s second was offside, and clearly so.

When Poli and Obi came on that really added something to the team. They are two players I would like to see either side of Cambiasso a lot more. Do not forget Obi is a centre midfielder not a left midfielder, though he may not have a lot of flair I do believe he can can add something positive to our play. Our first goal came from Forlan making a run inside the area from the wing and tucking away. The second was a lovely finish from Milito rifled into back of the net from just inside the area.
